UMBC Ice Hockey has released their schedule for the upcoming 2016-2017 season. The season kicks off on September 24th on the road against Montclair State University. Games against new opponents include a three game road trip to Ohio and Kentucky to play University of Ohio D2 for two games and an early Sunday matchup against University of Louisville. UMBC will also host NYU for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. The schedule will also see the Retrievers host University of Toledo and Penn State University for two games each in November. Of course, UMBC will continue their MACH South conference play with home and home series against University of Delaware D2, Liberty University D2, Virginia Tech University and University of Maryland College Park. The regular season will be capped off with the Crab Pot hosted by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
The first home game of the season will be Saturday October 8th at 4:15pm against MACH South rival Virginia Tech. All home games are played at Reisterstown SportsPlex (401 Mitchell Dr, Reisterstown, MD).
Post season play will include MACH Playoffs at University of Delaware, ACHA Southeast Regionals at Liberty University and ACHA Nationals will be hosted by the City of Columbus in partnership with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
